خِتَـٰمُهُۥ مِسْكٌ ۚ وَفِى ذَٰلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ ٱلْمُتَنَـٰفِسُونَ ﴿٢٦﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallWhose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss -

وَمِزَاجُهُۥ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ ﴿٢٧﴾

عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُقَرَّبُونَ ﴿٢٨﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallA spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا۟ كَانُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ يَضْحَكُونَ ﴿٢٩﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallLo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed,

وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ ﴿٣٠﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd wink one to another when they passed them;

وَإِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمُ ٱنقَلَبُوا۟ فَكِهِينَ ﴿٣١﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting;

وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَضَآلُّونَ ﴿٣٢﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray.

وَمَآ أُرْسِلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ حَـٰفِظِينَ ﴿٣٣﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallYet they were not sent as guardians over them.

فَٱلْيَوْمَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ ﴿٣٤﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallThis day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers,

عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ﴿٣٥﴾

هَلْ ثُوِّبَ ٱلْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ ﴿٣٦﴾

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

إِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ ٱنشَقَّتْ ﴿١﴾

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ ﴿٢﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd attentive to her Lord in fear,

وَإِذَا ٱلْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْ ﴿٣﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd when the earth is spread out

وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْ ﴿٤﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْ ﴿٥﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd attentive to her Lord in fear!

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَـٰقِيهِ ﴿٦﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallThou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence).

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ ﴿٧﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallThen whoso is given his account in his right hand

فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا ﴿٨﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallHe truly will receive an easy reckoning

وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا ﴿٩﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd will return unto his folk in joy.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِىَ كِتَـٰبَهُۥ وَرَآءَ ظَهْرِهِۦ ﴿١٠﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallBut whoso is given his account behind his back,

فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا ﴿١١﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallHe surely will invoke destruction

وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا ﴿١٢﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd be thrown to scorching fire.

إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فِىٓ أَهْلِهِۦ مَسْرُورًا ﴿١٣﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallHe verily lived joyous with his folk,

إِنَّهُۥ ظَنَّ أَن لَّن يَحُورَ ﴿١٤﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallHe verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah).

بَلَىٰٓ إِنَّ رَبَّهُۥ كَانَ بِهِۦ بَصِيرًا ﴿١٥﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallNay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him!

فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلشَّفَقِ ﴿١٦﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallOh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset,

وَٱلَّيْلِ وَمَا وَسَقَ ﴿١٧﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd by the night and all that it enshroudeth,

وَٱلْقَمَرِ إِذَا ٱتَّسَقَ ﴿١٨﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd by the moon when she is at the full,

لَتَرْكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَن طَبَقٍ ﴿١٩﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallThat ye shall journey on from plane to plane.

فَمَا لَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿٢٠﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallWhat aileth them, then, that they believe not

وَإِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ لَا يَسْجُدُونَ ۩ ﴿٢١﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)?

بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ يُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿٢٢﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallNay, but those who disbelieve will deny;

وَٱللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يُوعُونَ ﴿٢٣﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallAnd Allah knoweth best what they are hiding.

فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ﴿٢٤﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallSo give them tidings of a painful doom,

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍۭ ﴿٢٥﴾

Mohammed Marmaduke William PickthallSave those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing.
